About Wrona's
Our History
John Wrona founded Wrona's Quality Auto Repair and began servicing vehicles on the central coast in 1992. An American Service Excellence (ASE) Awarded and Certified Factory Technician, John worked for Ford Motor Company for fifteen years before opening the shop. When John set out on his own, he immediately became the "go-to independent" car repair shop for San Luis Obispo area Ford and Lincoln-Mercury owners. Through dedication and hard work, he built a successful business with a solid reputation in the community.

Wrona's became the go-to independent shop "specializing in honesty and integrity." John Wrona trained three additional technicians and a service manager. All of them were ASE Trained and Certified to repair American, Asian, and European automobiles.

​In 2008 Wrona's Quality Auto Repair was purchased by John and Christine Kimball. John was born and raised in San Luis Obispo. Growing up in the automobile business, his grandfather and father owned and operated local new and used car dealerships in San Luis Obispo for more than fifty years.
John retired from the United States Air Force, as a 22-year veteran of aircraft maintenance, where he held the positions of technician, supervisor, and superintendent. He has worked in the automotive repair industry since he left the Air Force. The Kimball family took pride in owning Wrona's for 15 years and welcomes its third family to own and operate Wrona's Quality Auto Repair.
In 2022, those same core values that made John Wrona's original shop successful will be carried on with Wrona's newest owners, Dave and Kimberly Kuden. John Kimball passed the traditions on to David and Kimberly Kuden. David was born and raised in San Luis Obispo and holds a General Engineering contractor's license. Kimberly, a Cal Poly graduate, has a 30-year history of leading small and large organizations in the Agricultural Industry as well as helping small businesses and non-profit organizations grow. David and Kimberly decided to focus their energy on developing a local business and supporting the local community.
Meet Our Owners
Dave and Kimberly Kuden are enthusiastic to carry on the Wrona's Quality Auto Repair traditions of Value and Quality. Kimberly assumes the role of General Manager with her background in business management. David assumes the role of Facilities Manager with his background in construction management.

Sam Matthews
Lead Service Advisor
Sam has a diverse background in high end food and beverage management internationally, new car sales, used car sales and most recently, leading our team here at Wrona's. He loves to buy and sell cars, ride fast motorcycles, and play with his two dogs when he is not at the shop.
Trevor
Front Counter Assistant
Trevor comes from the high end restaurant business, both serving and as a sous-chef. He has a love for vehicles and has decided to pursue his career in the auto industry. He loves golfing and fishing when he is not at the shop.
Flint
Parts and Maintenance
Flint is currently studying with the ambition to become a Game Warden. He loves going to the gym to stay in shape when he is not at the shop.
Greg
Technician
Gregorio is our longest tenured technician with 30 years of experience working on every vehicle on the road. He loves traveling the world and playing soccer when he is not at the shop.
Chris
Technician
Chris is a Certified SMOG & Repair technician. He is also a Subaru Master Tech with 25 years of experience in diagnostic and repair. He loves welding and manufacturing things when he is not at the shop.
Jake
Technician
Jake is a Certified SMOG technician with years of experience as a mechanic focusing on Euro cars as well as American/Asian. Jake loves all mechanical things. He has a passion for helping people, fixing cars and giving back to the community. His passion is BMWs and Volkswagens, but he will work on any vehicle. Jake loves to off-road in his time outside the shop.
Jesse
Technician
Jesse came from the Chrysler/Dodge dealership with several years of experience before coming to Wrona's. He loves Kayaking, Fishing and spending time outdoors when he is not at the shop.
Ken
Technician
Ken is a Certified SMOG & Repair technician. He is also a Nissan Master Tech a Traveling, Trying new food, hiking and playing video games.
Isidro
Technician
Isidro handles routine maintenance, inspections and oil changes. He can be found on the soccer field or working with his family in their family business when he is not at the shop.
